This is by no means a comprehensive list. There are a couple here that I have frequented and supported for years, and a couple who I believe have strayed from their roots, but still have a solid product. As a fellow gear junkie I hope you enjoy,
This website is new to the scene and not only sells great quality items at a members or professional athlete rate, but also does it with style. The Clymb also has its own line of products sure to satiate even the most voracious of us gear fanatics. The products range from dog accessories, to rock climbing, to cycling, technical apparel, to actual trips and outdoor adventures. One drawback is that the deals only last so long and the season will dictate certain deals and availability.
Backcountry.com is another one stop shop for all of your outdoor needs. Unlike the Clymb where membership is key and timing is everything. Backcountry offers a huge warehouse of any outdoor enthusiasts needs and wants. Fly-fishing, they’ve got it, car mounts, that too, it is like REI but with a less corporate and more friendly attitude.
This website has to be one of my favorites. It is the Craigslist of the Outdoor Gear world, with new and used products put up by users just like you and I. You can spend hours sifting through the cycling boots, to the skis, bike frames and more. I bought my first 3 season tent unopened from the site for under $30, you can find great products for a great price.
REI.com: The huge corporate purveyor of outdoor goods, where products wear their most expensive price tags.
Moosejaw.com: Great products come equipped with funny quips and a very broad range of apparel, but not much on the technical gear side.
If you know of some other good ones let me know. I am always looking for a good website to add to my list of favorites, and if you don’t agree I would love to hear why.
